The way to Tell when the Crank Angle Sensor Is Negative 1Power on the scan tool and connect it towards the diagnostic port inside the vehicle car diagnosis tool. Turn the ignition towards the “ON” position.

2Navigate to the live sensor functions menu of the scan tool Auto diagnostic tool. Select the crank angle sensor.3Disconnect the fuel pump fuse. Turn the ignition to the “START” position and crank the engine.

4Watch the readout on the scan tool. When the tool does not display the cranking RPM while the engine is turning then the crank angle sensor is bad.5Repeat steps 3-4 once more to rule out the possibility of an error.
